Jazz Camp for Girls -leiri tulee jälleen! Tällä kertaa leiri järjestetään Malmitalossa 3.–6.8.2026. Pääsymaksuton leiri tarjoaa kesäloman lopuksi jännittäviä ja hauskoja musiikkihetkiä 8–13-vuotiaille tytöille. Leirin opettajina toimivat Jasmin Afaneh ja Joakim Berghäll.

Leiri tarjoaa jännittäviä ja hauskoja musiikkihetkiä tytöille. Leirillä ollaan luovia ja muodostetaan oma bändi, keksitään bändille nimi, luodaan omaa musiikkia ja soitetaan yhdessä! Neljän päivän aikana musiikkia opitaan improvisoimalla ja soittamalla uusilla tavoilla.

Jazz Camp for Girls on suunnattu tytöille ja muunsukupuolisille. Leiri on suunnattu 8–13-vuotiaille, mutta tarkka ikä ei ole este osallistumiselle. Tärkeintä on kiinnostus kokeilla bändissä soittamista ja oppia yhdessä uutta.

Leirillä muodostetaan yhtyeitä sekä aloittelijoista että hieman edistyneemmistä, joten mukaan voi tulla kokemuksesta riippumatta. Tarvitaan vain kiinnostus soittaa yhdessä ja tavata uusia kavereita musiikin äärellä.

Leirillä muodostetaan kaksi ryhmää, joista kummassakin on 6–8 osallistujaa. Leirillä opettavat muusikot ja musiikkipedagogit Jasmin Afaneh (Sointi Jazz Orchestra, Pop & Jazz Konservatorio) ja Joakim Berghäll (muusikko, säveltäjä). Opettajien ohjauksella lapset saavat inspiraatiota soittamiseen uusien menetelmien pohjalta ja pääsevät tekemään musiikkia yhdessä.

Leirin aikataulu
Leiri järjestetään Malmitalossa (, Helsinki) 
ma 3.8. – to 6.8. klo 10–14. Leiri huipentuu torstaina 6.8. klo 13.00 Malmitalon Pienessä salissa järjestettävään loppukonserttiin, jossa leirin osallistujat pääsevät esittelemään oppimiaan taitoja yleisölle.

Jazz Camp for Girls on Tanskan jazzliiton (Jazz Denmark) vuonna 2014 lanseeraama konsepti, jonka tavoitteena on innostaa nuoria tyttöjä rytmimusiikin pariin. Leirin ideana on tarjota osallistujille innostava ja turvallinen ympäristö, jossa tytöt pääsevät kokeilemaan eri instrumentteja, bändissä soittamista ja säveltämistä.
Leiri järjestetään yhteistyössä Sointi Jazz Orchestran, Suomen Jazzliiton ja Pohjois-Helsingin musiikkiopiston kanssa. Jazz Camp for Girls -toimintaa tukee MES (Musiikin edistämissäätiö).

Jazz Camp for Girls is back! This time, the camp will take place at Malmitalo from 3–6 August 2026. Free of charge, the camp offers exciting and fun musical experiences for girls aged 8–13 at the end of the summer holiday. The camp instructors are Jasmin Afaneh and Joakim Berghäll.

The camp provides exciting and enjoyable opportunities to explore music. Participants will be creative, form their own bands, come up with band names, create original music, and play together. Over the course of four days, music will be learned through improvisation and by experimenting with new ways of making and playing music.

Jazz Camp for Girls is open to girls and non-binary young people. The camp is primarily intended for participants aged 8–13, but the exact age is not a strict requirement. The most important thing is an interest in playing in a band and learning together with others.

Bands will be formed from both beginners and more experienced participants, so everyone is welcome regardless of previous musical experience. All that is needed is an interest in making music together and meeting new friends through music.

The camp will be divided into two groups, each with 6–8 participants. Teaching is provided by musicians and music educators Jasmin Afaneh (Sointi Jazz Orchestra, Pop & Jazz Conservatory) and Joakim Berghäll (musician and composer). Through the instructors’ guidance and innovative teaching methods, participants will gain inspiration and experience creating music together.

Camp Schedule
The camp will be held at Malmitalo in Helsinki from Monday 3 August to Thursday 6 August 2026, daily from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The camp will culminate in a final concert on Thursday 6 August at 1:00 pm in the Pieni Sali of Malmitalo, where participants will have the opportunity to showcase what they have learned to an audience.

About Jazz Camp for Girls
Jazz Camp for Girls is a concept launched in 2014 by Jazz Denmark. Its aim is to encourage young girls to engage with jazz and other forms of rhythm-based music. The camp provides an inspiring and safe environment where participants can try different instruments, play in bands, and compose music.
The camp is organized in cooperation with Sointi Jazz Orchestra, Finnish Jazz Federation, and Pohjois-Helsinhin musiikkiopisto (Northern Helsinki Music School). Jazz Camp for Girls is supported by the MES (The Finnish Music Foundation).
